New Housing Assistance Program Giving Workers a Place to Call “Home”

Since spring 2011, the Millionair Club Charity’s new Housing Assistance Program has been actively serving the needs of the 60 percent of our participants who are homeless. So far, we’ve helped 16 individuals secure permanent, affordable housing.

We work with Plymouth Housing Group and other local organizations to help connect our workers with stable housing. Michael, from the Belltown Street Cleaning Crew, is one person who found housing through this new program.

After working with Housing Resource Specialist Angele Leaptrot and Veterans Affairs, he was able to find an affordable housing option and moved into his own place at the beginning of May.

Our Housing Assistance Program connects Millionair Club Charity workers to outside organizations that specialize in securing housing for the homeless. We hope to expand these relationships so more of our workers can find a place to call “home.”
