Your friends and family can change 100 lives

This holiday season we’ve made a strong commitment to raise $450,000 by the end of the year to help place 100 men and women into secure employment and stable housing in the coming year in addition to providing wrap-around services to thousands of individuals in our community.

This is your chance to make an impact! Here’s how you can create your own fundraising page on our website to help us reach this goal:

1. Visit our 2013 Giving Campaign website

2. Click on “Campaigner Registration” under the Spread the Word menu on the left hand side.

3. Follow the easy steps to register.

4. Share this page on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or e-mail and ask your friends and family to support the Millionair Club Charity’s mission to help rebuild a life this holiday season.

If 10 of your friends see this and each donate $10, that will raise $100. If they each share this and 10 of their friends also donate $10, that will raise an additional $1,000. Every dollar raised makes a big impact on the men and women we serve.

Thanks for your help as we rebuild lives!

Home-bound seniors not left out of Thanksgiving festivities

For many home-bound seniors the holidays can be a lonely time, especially if friends or family live far away.

Fortunately, the Millionair Club Charity’s Meals Program, in partnership with Full Life Care, has made sure 60 seniors are provided with a hot and delicious Thanksgiving meal this year to make the holiday season more cheerful.

Since 2006 we’ve helped deliver these meals in conjunction with Full Life Care’s ElderFriends program, which partners volunteers with seniors seeking companionship.

On Thanksgiving morning volunteers from Full Life Care come to the Millionair Club Charity and box up a scrumptious meal with all the fixings: turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables and dessert.

“Full Life Care is tremendously fortunate to partner with the Millionair Club for Thanksgiving all these years,” says Ginger Seybold, Director of Volunteer Programs at Full Life Care. “Our elder participants really appreciate having a special visitor on the holiday and they look forward to the tasty, nutritious meals prepared by your chefs.”

The meals are delivered on Thanksgiving morning to seniors living within the Seattle area. Seniors also receive along with their meals flowers from Ballard Blossom and placemats made by schoolchildren at Bertschi School.

This father-son team not only frequently volunteers at our annual Thanksgiving meals, they are also longtime donors to the Millionair Club Charity. Since 1994 Jim Whitson has generously given to the Millionair Club following a long tradition in his family of giving to our organization.

“It is an honor to serve at the Millionair Club,” says Jim. “We support the organization as a tribute to the change it has affected in thousands of lives, and staffing meals there keeps us mindful of what it means to serve. As a link in a long chain that stretches back to 1921, we are humbled by the legacy of the Millionair Club, an inspiration to our family and a great Seattle institution.”

Today Jim continues that legacy by bringing along his young son Charlie to help serve meals to our workers.

Thank you Jim and Charlie for your dedication to helping us rebuild lives!
